A little family time

On Saturday,June 13th, we had the pleasure of attending the Graduation Open House of Chet's Great- Nephew, Matt Gardner. Always an accomplishment in a young persons life, the end of one era, and the beginning of another. A fun time was had by all and I even got Chet and Matt to let me take a picture. Nice looking young man and a Great looking Hubby.

On Sunday, June 14th, we woke early and drove to Saginaw to attend Church with Jen and Jo and to witness Brecklyn's Baptism. We were joined by a rather large showing of friends and family for Brecklyn's special day. It is comforting to me that the girls have found such a nice church. All the people their are so friendly and supportive. Tristan loves going to Sunday School after the children's sermon and the minister is a powerful speaker. The Baptism was wonderful. And of course the star of the show was Beautiful.

Now that we got a little family time in, we were on to repacking for the next trip out. Our next trip out was kinda special as we celebrated our 9th anniversary with our good friends Joe and Sue Koziol.

Regression

I decided that I should regress somewhat and tell you all some dates so we have a timeline. We took our first trip to Ionia State Park on May 22nd to May 25th. After that I had to finish school and close down the Library for Summer. Our next trip was on June5th to June 9th, our first trip to Grand Haven.
It was with some trepidation that we went to Grand Haven this year, as we lost our Beloved Murphy this past fall. He was such an integral part of our Camping experience for the last 6 years. When you camp with a dog you are often recognized by the dog, not you. So many people came up to us and asked if we were the people with Murphy, so we told our story so many times that weekend. It was weird because the word spread with all the regulars and we eventually noticed the people just coming up and saying they were sorry for our loss. Campers are an amazing breed of people. Loving, gentle, Real.
So, one to the next chapter.

So we started out our camping season with a trip to Ionia State Park.

Only about 10 miles away for us but we had to go visit an old friend who transferred there. We had a nice weekend and it is a nice park. Long walk or drive to the lake and lots of horses. I never even took any pictures, Weird!

Off to Grand Haven for the first time this season. We had cooler than usual Temps but it was a great weekend. We saw a few boats,

the Pere Marquette 41, bringing in a load of sand.

Coast guard Boat going out for Maneuvers

The Manitowoc coming in heavy with a load of gravel or something.

All in all a great weekend. It's always a great time in Grand Haven. The weather wasn't the best so we didn't do a lot of walking but, I had the best pizza in the world at Clover Bar in Easttown on Beechtree. http://www.cloverbar.com/

I'll be back with more.

Thanks Jen, I Love Ya!
